The executive teams meets the Thursday before the council meeting at 5:15pm
The officers of this congregation and the Lead Pastor shall constitute the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee shall meet between regular Congregation Council meetings to oversee business as needed and to prepare for future needs.
a) The Executive Committee prepares the proposed Council agenda with the Lead Pastor for the next meeting
in accordance with C12.12.
b) The Executive Committee oversees personnel matters on behalf of the Council as detailed in C12.08.01.
Annually in October or November, the committee and selected Ministry Team members will meet with each staff member to review job performance. The Review Committee for each person normally includes: the Lead Pastor, the president, the president-elect and one Ministry Team member or congregational council related to the staff person’s ministry:
Pastor/s – One Ministry Team person appointed by Council on a rotating basis
Youth Director/Education Director – Youth and Family or Education
Office Support and Finance Staff -- Business Management or Membership
Music and Audio-Visual Staff – Worship or Membership Ministry Teams
Custodian – Property Ministry Team
a) If a decision needs to be made in a timely way about an issue prior to the next scheduled Council meeting, the Executive Committee may act officially in lieu of the Council. That action must be ratified by the Council at the next scheduled meeting. The Executive Committee may seek advice or consent from the council members by electronic or informal means concerning the issue but the Council does not vote officially between meetings.
b) The Executive Committee shall work with the pastor to advance the mission of the congregation and the leadership development of the council and staff.
